I have set my clock to show whenever I charged the device. I also have autolock due to my IT policy.

What I have found is that if I charge the device, it will show the clock, and continue to show the clock if I did not work on the device. However, if say I saw the LED light, and unlock the phone and use it to check email or do something (without unplugging the power), then it does not go back to clock. If I do it manually (enter clock), the after the lock period, the screen will go blank and not show the clock anymore.

Anyone know if this is normal, or anyway to get around it?

Normal behavior for clock to close when it enters locked. I don't believe theres a way around it, and doubt that its something that will change.

Have you tried to set the clock into bedside mode?

Don't think thats going to help. I put mine in bedside mode and then had it lock, which brought it to the lock screen, which then stays on and doesn't turn off.
