Why did you load the developer's operating system on your Playbook?
Let's start there...

Native apps includes e-mail, calendar, notes, tasks and BBM WITHOUT having to bridge to your BlackBerry.
And it's not there. It was promised 60 days after the release of the Playbook (in May).

After signing up for the beta I have changed my mind. Now how do I opt out of the program? Within 5 minutes my PB was wanting to upgrade to the 2.0 and I really don't want that. HELP!

Notification will be valid for 24 hours after you request it. Relax, it shall disappear on it's own.

That's pretty much dead on the money... People are guessing everything from 2-3 weeks to 6 months or more, and there is _nothing_ that would invalidate any of those guesses.

My own guess is that RIM's Playbook dev team is running into enough problems to make progress toward final releases impossible to predict. And that's why RIM is saying next to nothing about it. End of November? End of 2011? End of Winter 2012? [shrug]

On the other hand there are a number of indicaters that favour an earlier rather than later release: OS 2 includes the Android runtime; RIM was taking Android apps at DevCon for repackaging and submission to App World. However Dave is right, impossible to predict.
