Default Torch 9800 Help

Please Login to Remove!

Good morning to all!
I'm new to the forum and BB.
Now I present my problem: a few months ago I had as a gift that I have a 9800 torch, after about a week of use, stored in a drawer. Now I would like to start using it but it does not turn on. If I try to load the LED turns on and off at regular intervals and the battery will not charge, so I've been suggested connect to PC and launch Desktop Manager. This sees the BB and asks me if I want to update the firmware, launch the update but got the "New Connection to the JVM" stops and the message "The Application Loader is not able to connect to the ...... ...." Does anyone have any idea what to do? Or resign myself and disposes?
Thanks in advance to all.

You did not say how long it was stored so my guess is the battery is bad. If a LI battery is not kept charged it will go below 20 to 25% charge and may not recover. As for the OS updates, I would ignore them until you replace the battery and charge it fully so it stays on without being plugged into the PC or wall charger. You can always do the update so dont worry about the prompting.
Turning off the BB does not fully de-power it. The battery still has a small drain on it.

I agree with tsac on the battery issue. However, I would suggest that you use the device as is after you get it charged. Find out what it can and how it can work for you. You may find that it works very well as is and doesn't need to be fixed with an OS update.

Try a new battery - an OEM version, not a cheap knock off.

As long as it's an OEM Blackberry battery. Knockoff's are never as good.
