Default Bluetooth between 7250 and IBM Thinkpad T43

Please Login to Remove!

Hello:

I have a VZW BB 7250, and an IBM ThinkPad T43 with Bluetooth. When I try to pair them, the BB says it is pared, but I get an "Error pairing" on the IBM. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Anyone else have an idea?

The other question I have is I would like to use the BB's Internet connection on the IBM...example, in an airport, instead of paying a stupid fee for wireless access, can I access the BBs Internet connection from the IBM via Bluetooth?

Thanks in advance for any info anyone has.

I was wondering if there was any way to do this in reverse and use the wifi of the thinkpad to connect to the internet through the blackberry. Is this possible?

Two things to remember when trying to do BT synch. One make sure that you are using WinDows XP with SP2 and the native BT drivers. DO NOT use any drivers that may come with your device it will not work. If the native drivers do not recognize your dongle then it is not ocmpatible and loading the drivers that may have come with it will not make it work with your BB. Second, make sure that your device is free of any IT Policies since the restrict BT usage by default is my understanding. If you are on a BES you may or may not get your BES admin to go along with you to change it ,a nd if You bought a used one that may have been on a BES that you do not know about, the IT Policy removal tool posted here though it works for allowing you to get third party applications installed, WILL NOT clear any restrictions regarding BT believe me I know.
