Less than 12 000 000 FILE FREE is considered low free memory.

This is a common question. Search and read other opinions.

Bottom line is it varies depending on what you have installed and what you have running. Some get along with relatively low free memory. I would say try to be around at least 14MB after a battery pull. But that's me. Your situation may be different.

What is your free memory, and are you having problems?

7 769 985.. I am not having problems.. i strictly run email, text, and all the outlook (calendar, task, notes).. not used as a toy.. use to organize clients at the law firm and work completed... just want to be sure that I don't need to upgrade due to limitations of a 2 1/2 year old 8310... just maintenance.. thanks.

Is that after a battery pull?

I think I was down as low as 11-12MB (after a battery pull), and 5,6,7,8MB after a while.

Only time I noticed is when I would try and download an app to check it out. I'd have to do a battery pull. I then deleted unused, hidden themes and got up to 14+ (after a battery pull). That was on an 8820 running 4.5.

Yes, that's pretty low. Try a battery pull and check again. If it's still low, you will want to look to free up some memory or you risk losing data.
