Default "Find" in contacts not working

Please Login to Remove!

I can't find any discussion of this, so here goes...
I have a new Bold 9700 and am using the Desktop Manager for Mac Power Book Pro. On the last sync I did, my contacts synced fine, but when I type any letter in the Find box at the top of the screen, it comes back saying No Contacts. There are plenty of contacts there with the letter, but they don't show through the find/lookup function. This is driving me nuts, because it worked earlier. Any ideas please??
Thanks.

First thing, if you haven't, do a hard reset. With the power on, remove the battery for about 30 seconds.

Did that, thanks. Didn't help. I have erased the address book from the device and resynced and it is still doing it.

Ok. You do not have any filters enabled, right. You open the address book and scroll, and you see contacts? You pick a name that you know is there, and start typing, and it doesn't find, is that what's happening?

Correct. No filters, names are listed right there, but when I start typing in find it then says no contacts. How weird is this, anyway???

Not sure. Using advanced feature in Backup/restore to delete the address book and either re-syncing or restoring is what I would have tried next.

Since you have re-sync'd, if you have a backup file, what do you think of clearing again and doing and advanced restore of the address book and see if it makes a difference? Maybe pick an older backup file if you have held onto a few.

Ok, that worked!! Now, on my contacts options I have two contact lists: one that says Desktop with nothing in it and one that says Unknown with all the contacts in it. I am afraid that when I sync, I am going to populate the Desktop list and have duplicates. Any suggestions?

Hi. Ok, the contact thing seems to be working now. Thanks so much for your help. I resynced and deleted the unknown contact list so I now have one list that is working on the blackberry. I am having a problem with the Mac desktop manager now not competing a sync with the blackberry, but sometimes, that sorts itself out. I will wait and see if it does! Thanks again.

Glad you got it working. The two address books that you mentioned is over my head. On my model and OS, address book > options > address books just has Default listed. Is that the path you took to get to the Desktop and Unknown address books?
