Question "Prepopulation By Message Age" BES 4.1SP1

Please Login to Remove!

Any way to get this maximum number of days from 14 to something reasonable, such as 90 or 180 or even better "all email"?

Nope, sorry. The Blackberry handheld is not designed to be an email retention device. It doesn't have that kind of storage capasity anyway. Not sure on 4.1, but BES 4.0 will only send at most 7 days of previous email or 350 messages. Which ever is less.

How does Blackberry expect to be competitive against the Verizon Q device? We likely will do away with the Blackberry and BES altogether, and switch to Verizon Q in the next 2 weeks. Negotiations are in progress.

The reason you don't like BlackBerry is because it wont send you all of your mailbox? I can't think of a good reason why you need all of your old email. Does Exchange SP2 even offer that feature of synching your mail?

Maybe you can't think of a good reason but my users have their reasons.

Default WM5 devices

Ok .. I know the Q is sexy and all but trust me .. keep your BB's close by.

We recently updated to Exchange 2003 SP2 and I tested pretty much every WM5 device that is out.

1. it's still not push, even with MSFP it's really still pull and not as quick.
2. battery life was just god aweful

The Q does not have MSFP yet and is not the full WM OS .. it's the smartphone version.

The perfect wireless device is not here yet but the 8700 comes pretty darn close.

Microsoft has more work to do before it replaces BB & BES.
