I haven't been running anything else except the standard onboard blackberry apps while the podcast app is running and downloading. I have been using the browser and email, listening to a podcast, and downloading podcasts at the same time with no pauses or laggs. A podcast downloaded automatically a little while ago while I was browsing and I had know idea until I got the alert from the app. It's been berry berry good to me.

I don't know if my definition of good is the same. But check out Tiny Desk Concerts : NPR and The Great Detectives of Old Time Radio. The later is a mix of old time radio mystery shows and old mystery movies.

I didnt want to spend the fee for Daily Show or Colbert Show. I wish TV shows would have the podcast compatibility

How well does the player work? I'd LOVE to finally be able to listen to podcasts on my BB but I'm afraid it will not retain my location when I pause the playback and return to it a day later. Has this problem been resolved?

I can't say. It uses the native media player. I've paused and un-paused, even for a long enough period that the device password locks and I unlock it, and I imagine it has been long enough for memory cleaning to start.

But I've never completely closed out of media player and the podcasts app and then come back to it. Is that your question? I'm betting there's no way to pick up where you left off in that case.
