Question 7520 And Bluetooth Sync

Please Login to Remove!

Now that 4.1 is out for the Blackberry 7520 Has anyone tried the new Bluetooth Sync yet? I am thinking I will try it.... But I also am wondering if my Bluetooth keyboard (Logitech MX 5000) Will be able to do the Sync.... Or if I have to use my other Blue Tooth Adapter? Any Ideas?

I was just able to synch mine with my dell XPS Gen2 integrated bluetooth.

EDIT: Actually the connection is made but the computer is looking at COM40 while the BB only has COM7 in the list. I'm working on trying to figure out a way to change that now.

The only service name I see is Blackberry Bypass Service P:0x4009 with the service class of smart phone and that's when I click details of the connection, is there another way to see the entire list? I can get the connection going to where the XPS is connected but Desktop Manager doesn't detect it.

Yeah well they need to patch the desktop manager so that it will see the bluetooth connection...or I'm just setting it up completely wrong.

Hey Lokean,
Check out the article located here for setting up DTM Connectivity with you BlackBerry.

Just an FYI...with handheld code v4.1 the Bluetooth technology was upgraded from version v1.1 to v2.0 which is what almost all headsets and devices use for Bluetooth connectivity these days so rejoice!!

BBMaster you answered my question for me. I'm on a BES and we don't have SP3 installed yet. Thanks!

I was refering to the link you posted about how to set up Bluetooth PC connectivity. After upgrading my 7520 to 4.1 I don't have Desktop Connectivity as an option. The article explains that if you are on a BES you have to have SP3 installed which we don't.

Gotcha.
Yeah, you gotta have SP3 on the BES for that version of handheld code to take advantage of the Bluetooth Desktop connectivity.

Glad I could help you out.

OK, so I just upgraded my BES to 4.0.3.5

rebooted my bb, via taking out the battery for a few minutes.

Still only shows headset and handsfree only under bluetooth options.

what gives?

are you sure that the bluetooth was upgraded from 1.1 to 2.0? i think you mean 1.2 2.0 would require new hardware
