I've just replaced a cracked screen on my 9530. The new LCD /digitizer came with the metal SurePress plate as well. After install the LCD and highlighting seems to work but I cannot select anything. The tactile action seems wrong somehow too. The bottom portion of the screen doesn't appear to have any spring to it.

Is it possible that the new screen is faulty or have I done something wrong? I need to understand what triggers a selection when the screen is depressed. How is the spring action handled? Could I have assembled something wrong or lost a couple of small parts without realizing it?
