I had orginally posted the question about BB Protect working only once and then getting the "temporarily unavailable" error message on subsequent backup attempts.

Since then I have been experimenting. BB Protect works if I tick everything except Calendar. BB Protect works also if I tick Calendar but nothing else. But it won't work with everything ticked. Which makes me ask, is there a size limit for BB Protect ? Or some other explanation ?

I have about 5,000 contacts and about 13,000 calendar entries. Just a handful of memos and tasks.

There are no such limit,you may be having problem because your calender entry is large and as it based on OTA so it will take time for for such large entry,There is an option at what interval you want to keep your back can set it daily ,weekly,monthly,if you think you have large entry I prefer set it to weekly or monthly.

There is an option also " backup now" mark all and see what happen,Also perform a battery pull restart and then have a try.
