Default Delivery confirmation for SMS

Please Login to Remove!

I use to have it on my 8700. Does anyone know how to set it up for the Bold?

under Options-> SMS, you would see the Delivery Report. Just choose On.

Under the SMS Outbox folder (if you choose to hide sent messages) you will see a tick for sent and D for delivered. Hope this helps.

Not all carriers support the feature, though.

O2 doesn't but if you put

*0#

at the start of the SMS you get a receipt message, not sure if this works on other carriers

No on Rogers these options are not there for SMS. There must be another way.

Yes the option will show up if you take out your sim card, and go in and change it. The change will stick even after you reinsert your sim.

Thanks Jay, now I sort of remember doing that with the 8700. I did remove the sim card and the option was there but I couldn't save it. When I reinserted the sim card and tried it it didn't work. We're getting closer though.

Default Got it!

You have to note your Service Center # before you take out the sim card. With the sim card out you select delivery confirmation - on and enter your Service Center #. Then it lets you save and your done. FINALLY.

If you understood how SMS worked you would understand why you cant get confirmations of SMS messages. If the carrier actually uses the proper SMS channel to send your message there is no way to confirm it was sent. If they use the Packet based network then they can confirm its delivery.

Check out this link it will explain how SMS works. It's not what you think and it's why you can get SMS sometimes but no reception.. go figure
