Default Live Search GPS Not Found

Please Login to Remove!

I have this recurring problem with Live Search not finding my GPS position when I open it up and attempt a GPS search. It tells me it cannot find current GPS position and asks if I want it to use the previous position. Usually, the answer is "no." I have found that closing Live Search, opening Google Maps, and reopening Live Search sometimes allows Live Search to find my GPS location. I would just use Google, but I like Live Search better.

Any idea why this is happening?

I have to do the same thing as well. Probably related to the GPS being initialized upon startup. GoogleMaps woorks fine but the Livesearch is a lot better visually. Now if they just added voice-guided directions, it would be a killer app.

The GPS on Beyond411 seems to be working lately. Give it a try.

Are you inside or outside when you try to use GPS? GPS has to be used outside. Google Maps tries GPS first and if it cannot lock on it uses the cell towers to get an approximate position. Also, try Superpages I use it and it is graphically beautiful.

I've had the problem both inside and out. I do have Beyond411 for the white pages. So that's...um...3 apps. :p Doh! Thanks for the tips.
