I see what you mean although I don't understand why the 820 has a memory slot and the 920 does not. Strange.

The 710 didn't have it (lower end) and now the 820 has it!

Maybe they felt 'cause the 920 has 32GB RAM on board an the 820 only has 8GB RAM on board it was needed. I don't know but it reminds me of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 which I have. It comes with 8GB RAM and a microSDHC slot yet the other models that have more memory in the unit do not have a memory slot either. I feel it's handy not only for expanding your storage but sometimes I like to switch up cards for different uses (for example MP3's on one card vs. actual work files on another card).

Daughter just got the SGS III and loves it. But I am not an Android guy. Just didn't like the setup. To each his own - use what works for you

Once you've had some time to play around with the new unit, let us know your impressions. I know there isn't a strong consumer base for this platform yet (like BB, iOS, & Android) so as much as I like the idea behind it, I'm still a little hesitant in switching just yet. I would assume less malware than Android but probably not many applications written for it yet (although I'm not an app person anyway - prefer just the pre-installed apps that come with the OS).

First impressions after two hours.

I really like this phone. WP8 fixed all of the complaints I had with WP7 (meaning it can do some stuff I missed from the BB).

The phone itself is huge and beautiful. There are 250k applications on the Windows Phone Store, and I have everything I need. Cameras are really nice. It is FAST. Did I mention it is HUGE.

I have Windows 8 on my laptop and the integration is unbelievable - it is a native Windows 8 application and really nice.

I am sure I will find stuff I don't like about it and will report that back, But so far, this is one great (and huge) phone.

Issue #1 - non replaceable battery. Missed that in the specs. Not thrilled. Of course I will have to see how long it lasts on a full charge.

Issue #2 - the belt holster for this thing must be gigantic

This is what I like to hear. The 8X I want has the same polycarbonate unibody as the 920, but Engadget says the battery is awesome, so we'll see.

After (almost) one day..

Pros: Best Windows Phone I've ever used. By far. Fast (dual core processor) and tons of memory. I was never much for putting my music onto my phone (that's what iPods are for) but all my music is now on this.

Windows 8 makes it very easy to sync. The memory shows up as a drive in Explorer (YEAH)...

It doesn't feel heavy. It feels big and solid. Tough to balance/type with one hand, but that's ok - shouldn't be using it while driving, right

DC - the Nokia apps could be a differentiator between the HTC and the Nokia. Nokia Music is great. The 32GB on the 920 is spacious. OS doesn't use much and the apps are fairly small.

Battery life seems OK so far. Will try to use it all day without charging. I am programmed to plug any mobile device in when I get into the car, so this will be a challenge

Because of the size, the keyboard is larger. Fewer missed keys.

Went and bought a holster for it at the local mall. Good thing I wear a belt.

4G LTE is nice, IF you are in an area where AT&T has graciously provided it. Not my house or office. But I have WiFi there so who cares.

Preroll - I am shocked I like it this much.

Cons:
- No Skype (known) or Tangoe. Odd. Coming soon. Of course no Viber.
- Can't balance it in one hand. Used to that..
- I still miss a physical keyboard, but I need to evolve to survive (Darwin never used an iPhone)

Got my wireless charging pad (HELLO - WHAT A BRILLIANT IDEA)

Still lovin' it.

In the middle of the night it crawled off my nightstand, went over to my wife's iPhone 5 and kicked sand in its face. HA!

I went and checked out the 8X today, and I definitely like what I see. I would definitely love to have Nokia Maps, but I thought I read that was loadable on other Windows devices, so maybe it's no issue.

The only negative aspect is that I'll have to pay out the nose to switch back to AT&T from Verizon, but hopefully I can sell my iPhones (or at least mine in the event my ex doesn't give hers back to me) and iPad.

Did you look at the 822 on Verizon? Or are you set on switching to AT&T?
