Unable to SEND emails (BES & BIS) via mobile connection (Vodafone UK) ...

I can RECEIVE* perfectly OK, but in the last few days, when I send from
either my BES or BIS email, I get the clock icon and that's where it
stays, even if I try a "Resend" - and yes, I have a strong 3G signal
* BES & BIS email, SMS, Twitter, Facebook, BBM, etc ...
When I get home and connect to my WiFi AND Resend, it's fine - and if I
send when WiFi connected it's fine ...
Any suggestions - have I screwed up a setting???
