David, we all know you're a troll. You're not fooling anyone.
From all your posts:
60% of them threaten to switch to Windows in one way or another.
100% of your posts are anti-BlackBerry.

As I said earlier... we don't care what you do or what device you carry.
You're not special. You're not important. You're not making any impact on the world. You're a nothing. Begone already.

I felt a small glimmer of hope last night as I was reading the latest issue of PC Mag...an article about handheld OSes included the sentence "as we went to press, RIM released BlackBerry OS 4.5.....", and included a link to download.

Of course the link produced no results, but hey, it was exciting for a minute!

This thread sure is fun. I could only imagine how many threads/posts would become the favorite for April 08.

I wonder if RIM reads the BB sites and finds them amusing or frustrating? Either way they need to do something, the tide keeps going in and out, with competitors dropping off more cargo every day.

You'll see the 4.3 version within days popping up on some carriers which already includes a lot of the changes for 4.5 (since it was basically renamed). The 8330 has 4.3 on it already.

purephase,

Bell Mobility is my carrier and as you know they launched CDMA Curve 8330 on April 11th. The specs show 4.3 as the OS. So does this mean that this version of 4.3 is actually 4.5? This is really getting confusing. Do you mind confirming? Thanks.

Keep on Crackin',

no, the version it launches with is 4.3.0.xx. This is 4.3. the OS 4.5 is actually 4.3.1 renamed. No devices have this yet.

Thanks Sith. I'm planning to get BB 8330 in the not too distant furute. So when OS 4.5 is released, I'll upgrade.

Sith pretty much covered it, but the actual version is 4.3.0.124.

Things included in that version are (that I've noticed so far):
- Video recording
- New message view (much cleaner)
- L theme
- New browser

I'm sure there are more. Those stand out for me at the moment.

I think the big changes for 4.5 are the Docs2Go support and HTML support in email. Not really interested in trying the beta though. I'll wait until it's released.

Forgive me, if I am wrong but I thought HTML email was scrapped a few weeks (maybe months at this point time is just slipping with 4.5 stuff) ago. I am mainly looking foward Doc2Go, Voice Notes, Play Lists/YouTube support for my 8830 .

4.5 OS is capable of HTML rendering, but requires a BES or BIS version that also supports it. Neither of those are out either.
