Default Orange UK 7130g

I have searched through for upgrading the OS on my 7130g and found a couple of links.
My question is, if i upgrade to OS Release 4.2 from a network other than Orange, will i run into problems with my account.
I am having big problems using the Media Manager and the answer is to upgrade the OS to 4.2 to get roxio to work.
As Orange (Who i have been with for over 12 years now and nearly told them where to put this Blackberry, due to the OUTSTANDING lack of support) only give a link to OS Release 4.1, i am grasping at straws now to be able to transfer files to my phone.

Thanks in advance.

You can use OS from another carrier. See http://blackberryfaq.com/index.php/H..._BlackBerry%3F.
