I am trying to decide between ATT, and Verizon.
They both have good speeds, and coverage for my area....Dallas, TX.
And both seem to have the latest blackberries.
I am looking to do a family plan for me and my gf, and with unl. data for our BBs.
Is there any Objective reasons why one is better than the other? Im not looking for fanboi opinion but objective facts the distinguish the two.
I don't know about objective reasons... It depends on what is important to you.
My advice is search the forum on verizon and ATT (and AT&T) and see what people are or have been talking about.
As long as either has the coverage you need where you live, work, travel and play, then from then on it is a personal preference. Look in the sections for the different devices that you are considering to help you select one or the other.
1. As others have mentioned, Coverage , not just in the general area but specifically where you live, work or otherwise spend a lot of time.
2. Quality of Customer Service- How long do you have to sit on hold before getting to talk to someone? Do your problems get resolved in one call? If there is follow up, is it done efficiently?
3. Pricing- After all of the data packages and other features that you need are added up, who offers the most value for what you would pay per month?
I really have no opinion either way on the two carriers you mentioned-I used one of them several years ago, and have never used the other. Just thought I would provide some insight on possible criteria for you to help make your choice.

I have been with both carriers and the plans (costs) are about the same. If the coverage in your area is good from both and they both have phones you like, then one thing can distinguish between then, as far as i am concerned: AT&T uses sim cards that you can transfer from one phone to another and Verizon doesn't. Also, AT&T has more international coverage in case you would have to travel. These are some features I would consider.

Some other points to consider:
Will you tether your BB as modem? . . . AT&T/VZW
Is GPS function a major criteria? ...AT&T/VZW
A family plan with a GF is big step to commitment . . . are you in that field already? If not, keep the lines separate but both on same network .... AT&T with roll-over minutes/VZW
If you decide you don't need BIS, you can opt out of the service with AT&T. . . VZW requires service with a BB device.
. . . just a few that comes to mind not already mentioned above. . . this is in no way an AT&T fanboi post. Given the dilema, I would consider coverage, features, price among other things regardless of the service provider. . . in reality, I have mostly TMO & Sprint devices deployed/supported across the country.
