I have just got a new Orange UK 8520 Curve on PAYG and i am wondering, Do i need to pay extra for internet access and app store access? If i do is there a way to bypass the payment thing

When you purchase and activate a PAYG BlackBerry from Orange, you are automatically subscribed to the BlackBerry data plan which gives you Internet access. There is no way to bypass payment as your mobile will be disconnected should you choose not to top up.

thank you for this info - by the way can i use my own PAYG sim because it didn't come with one for some reason (it is locked to Orange so don't know why)

If this was from your own carrier, as an upgrade etc, they don't come with SIM cards, because they know you have one.
The plan for PAYG and blackberry internet service will be linked to your SIM card and number.
So, you need to use your own SIM card.

Well, as the only SIM you have is the one you have, then you'll have to use it!
I believe theres a number to text to activate the BB data plan.
