Default Verizon Curve Bluetooth shuts itself off

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone else having an issue with the Bluetooth on the Verizon 8330?

Mine connects to devices fine, and communicates fine, but simply shuts off the bluetooth radio randomly.

I will notice Bluetooth icon gone on display and go into connections and its off. Most of the time I can turn the Bluetooth radio back on and all is fine. Sometimes I have to do a battry pull to get Bluetooth to turn back on.

I suspect a bad Curve, at least a bad Bluetooth radio as I am not hearing of any other users with the issue.

Thanks in advance for suggestions and/or help

I had the same problem. I found that if you turn the blue light of death on, the problem goes away. So you either have to put up with the obnoxious light, or the even more obnoxious disabling of the bluetooth.

Hope this helps.

Turning on the light never helped me. My bluetooth still turns off (as it did on my 8130). I have 4 different headsets and it does it with all of them. Within the last day the bluetooth has gotten worse. Now when it turns off it won't even turn on unless I pull the battery.

Turn on the bluetooth indicator light...my curve has not dropped the bluetooth connections to several headsets for two days now...not sure why but it seems to work!

I think it is an individual device issue. It happened to me on 2 of the 8130's I had but the other two were fine. It is not happening on my 8330 at all. I was able to turn it back on with out a battery pull but it was annoying.

Doesn't help. Tried it on my 8130's and the 8330's.

I was having the same issue. I would enable Bluetooth and it would stay connected for an hour or two, but then it would disable itself. I took the advice of omegadoc and turned the LED indicator light on. My Curve has not disabled Bluetooth since.

Is this an individual device issue, or some sort of quirk related to all VZW 8330s?

I am having the same issue with my 8330. I have actually had VZW exchange phones for a new one which does it less. VZW customer service said that it may be a compatibility issue with bluetooth device. Bought a new one from VZW with no success. My bluetooth headset worked fine with my previous VX8300 phone but not with my BB. I will try the blue light special and see if it helps.
