Default new bb 8310 gps

Please Login to Remove!

I canceled my tmobile service and signed up with ATT and got a new 8310 with GPS.

I understand you have to use/pay for telenav, but id rather not. I have google maps but I dont know exactly how that works with the gps..

Is there a way to get the stock BB maps on the 8310?

Google maps is great and works fine with the GPS in the Curve. Don't pay for TelNav. Just remember you will be using data to download the maps.

No BBMaps on ATT unless you install an old version that doesn't require service books. But I think TN is the best if you need voice. I use GMM but not for voice directions with 3D maps. I think TN is worth it.

Post New AT&T

with the Old TN, you could get the 5.99 limited or the 9.99.
The new At&t branded TN only comes in one flavor - 9.99 per month unlimited and has better type ahead.

I am still on the old 5.99 limited as I don't need this feature all the time....

I found this:

How to: Get BB Maps on 8310 - PinStack.com - BlackBerry forums

worked like a charm!

just took a drive and it could even tell me how fast I was going within 1.5 mph. Pretty sweet.

$9.99/month, I use it a great deal, and it is worth it as well for searching locations and weather for cities.

I also use Telenav and I can also agree that it is great. I do alot of driving and use it about 85% of the time im in the car.

The $9.99 is well worth it IMO

Here's that website www dot amazegps dot com. Be sure to go under your advanced options and refresh your gps. It may take a couple of times to locate satellites, but it will work. If you have trouble getting it to find any satellites go outside and refresh. You will need to refresh your gps every couple of days. Hope it helps.
