Unhappy 8330 vs 8330m

Please Login to Remove!

My wife and I just go new sprint phones. I thought they were the same, but her's is an 8330m, while mine is an 8330. I understand that has something to do with picture mail, and serial numbers ... and that's fine. My problem/concern is that the 8330m has 1/4 of the apps available to it that the 8330 has. My wife cannot hardly download anything on bb app world.

Advice?

Its already been explained to you in the RIM support forum. The developers who make the apps must designate their apps as available for the 8330m. Many have not.

Good luck

And it doesn't have anything to do with picture mail. The 8330m just simply is considered a different model which few developers have stated in AppWorld as compatible with their apps. Otherwise it is identical to the 8330. Because the 8330 was so popular RIM ran out of ESN numbers and had create MEID device numbered models to satisfy and meet the demand.

Picture messages (MMS) come into the 8330m with the picture displayed, while the 8330 does not.

Your wife doesn't need apps that are for the 8330M only, she can use the 8330 apps too. When I shop for apps, I never pay attention to the 8330 / 8330m differentiation.

Just don't try to put an 8330 OS on the 8330m, or vice versa.

You can probably get a regular 8330 for under $100. Cut your losses
