synching pocketmac for blackberry for w/ leopard machine
Please Login to Remove!
Everyone, bought a new macbook w/ leopard, upgrading from a G4 powerbook. Had to re-install pocketmac for blackberry several times before I could get pocketmac to synchronize between entourage running on my g4 and my BB 8800, and then had to follow a particular sequence: start entourage, start pocketmac, plug in 8800 and sync. The sync failed if I used any other sequence.
I have tried everything I can think of to get pocketmac working w/ my macbook: followed Kdee recommendations; deleted and re-installed pocketmac 3x; turned off notes sync. And still it hangs on the calendar sync. On the attempt I see the following messages in the sync log re: calender sync.
[07:05:32.546] Synchronizing Entourage with BlackBerry Calendar

Anyone have any new ideas? According to pocketmac's web site pocketmac for bb is compatible w/ leopard, but I sure cannot make it work ):

I got the impression that BB doesnt care for us Mac users.
Neither of the choices available for DM software are worth crap.

The problem is what version of Leopard were they working with the Gold master or betas. If they are not basic it on the Gold master there could be bugs. Apple did not give developers the final version prior to launch so lots of developers are trying to get their apps up to date. I had VMware Fusion and Windows XP Home so I could run the couple apps that do not offer desktop clients for MAC.

I gave up on pocket mac and entourage. switched to apple mail, ical, and apple address book and sync with missing sync. This arrangement works.

I did the same, more so as I needed a mail client that was stable, once you reach a data file size such as mine Entourage is out of the question. While I've seen PocketMac work without issue in numerous instances, the problematic side seems to outweigh the overall purpose, less than stellar support doesn't help the cause. I started using Missing Sync for BlackBerry not to long ago and for the $40 price tag its well worth the investment.

You guys are lucky. I can't even get PocketMac to *run*. It crashes on launch, every time. Uninstalled, Reinstalled (twice) and still no joy.

I have a Powerbook/Leopard/Blackberry 8310. Pre leopard everything Syncxxx8217;d. Now life is crap. I too paid for Missing Sync and that didn;t work either. There is some kind of calander fix on the Blackberry site, but I couldnxxx8217;t figure out how to use it or if it was particularly for macs, so Ixxx8217;m at a loss. Waiting for a solution and the iphone is looking shiny and nice, but Ixxx8217;ll wait for the second generation of that I think!

I was having major problems syncing iCal and Address Book on Tiger. After going back and forth with PocketMac, they finally offered me a beta version which seems to work *fingers crossed*

whew ...
I'm glad that I have company on this issue. PocketMac is refusing to work completely with my new MackBook Pro running Leopard. It will sync the Contacts and Calendar, but nothing with Tasks and Notes. I have learned all the various steps that you can try to get PocketMac to work when there's a glitch, but I have hit a brick wall this time.
In the past, I was very happy with the program. Entourage was an acquired taste though.

I ended up buying Missing Sync which seems to work albeit the occasional screw-up in duplicating tasks. Pocket mac even with the Beta version does not work as yet. I liked their interface better than Missing Sync but they have problems with Entourage 2008 and Sync Services from Leopard.
