Question Missing Filter Options in Email Options??

Please Login to Remove!

I am very confused. On the help application for my blackberry it says to open any message list, press the menu key, choose options and there should be filter options. I do not see this option anywhere? Does this option only show for BES? I am using all BIS email accounts.

Please advise.

come on people. the least you can do is see if you have the filter option on your phone and let me know if I am in the right place.

I'm not aware of filter options in the way that you describe exactly, but there are some filter options (not via the menu), of which I don't have all of them memorized; but off the top of my head, from the message list, alt-s filters to SMS, alt-m filters to MMS, etc.

The only place I've seen filters in the way you describe using the Menu key, is for filtering the Addressbook.

Hopefully someone can answer you more specifically.

Default Filters

The only filters I am aware of are in the BIS interface, where you can setup filters while configuring BIS on line. For example, I have a filter that passes the message thru as Level1 when the message is a high priority, and another that passes the full message thru if it comes from my office. All other messages come thru with just the headers.

As a BES user I have an option 'Email Filters' under the options menu in messaging. Must just be a BES thing. That kind of makes sense because it controls what messages even get sent to the BB.

Under BIS you can set filters too. Pretty much the same thing.

This is a forum site -- not your dedicated technical support site. If you need instant answers then don't rely on any forum. Answers are not guaranteed and you need to give people at least 24 hours.

Only BES users can edit filters on the BB (or in Desktop Manager) and even then they can only edit their BES filters. Everyone has to edit their BIS filters on their carrier's BIS site.
