Default Desktop Manager and Win 7

Does anyone else have to reboot their PC when trying to sync? My DM rarely recognizes my phone (stays "disconnected" despite show USB recognition) until I restart the PC. Kind of annoying and it's just a 6 month old Win 7 Dell desktop. Something is incompatible, my Torch, Win 7, or DM?

Are you using the latest version of DM? If so, trying going to an earlier version. The new has issues.

How do you get an earlier version? Any particular one as I found prior versions crashing more often, while this one just won't connect without a reboot. Also had trouble with earlier ones using an Ascendo program (DataVault). Interesting that the current version has no problem on my older computer using Win XP, but it does on my Win 7 new computer.

I just upgraded my phone to OS 7.1 I am hoping that will fix the issue as I think a new driver was installed on my desktop.
