Default Create address book entry from custom app

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,
Can an address book entry be created from a custom application? For example, say I have a small spreadsheet type app that stores address information in it, could it be programmed so that a user could highlight an entry and press a key and have it add the corresponding information to the built in address book? If there were 50 contacts in the spreadsheet, could it do them all at once?

Assuming we can do the above, Is there a way to UPDATE an address book entry from a custom app? For example, if you try to add an address book entry and it is already there, but some info is different, load the new info in the address book. Could this be done all at once?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark
