You may have to change settings from Protocol to HTTP within the Opera Mini app.

Default Opera

I just deleted Opera Mini after the frustrating wait. Was up-to-date a week ago.

the opera mini 4.1 beta that i download doesn't, it uses EDGE even though i am connected to WiFi. i looked at the forums for it and the opera developers say they are working on it, but they will apparently not make a new release for it (i don't understand why, to me wifi capability would be a really awesome groundbreaking feature that really deserves a release if they succeed).

seems possible though, as gmail and google maps seem to be using wifi for me.

and yeah, even with EDGE i find it's buggy. i do have the right APN settings and all but there are many times i see "Connecting ..." on the opera mini screen and it takes frustratingly long before it starts "Processing" whereas the built-in BB browser is still really fast. today i was getting DNS errors in opera over EDGE only (?!) while the browser was working fine, too.
