It still crashes when I try to sync my Ical to it. It doesn't even see the categories I use listed under advanced.

I do not experience this. How many categories do you have?

Go back from this thread to the "Mac User's Corner" or other forum. At the top of the thread list is the button "New Topic". Click on that.

But before you post, please read the FAQ: http://www.blackberryforums.com/faq.php?faq=vb_faq

And Search!

Lastly, welcome to the forum.

cheers!
Simon

Will I be able to use my 7130 as a modem through Verizon?

I've had *very* bad experiences with earlier versions of PocketMac, so I hesitate another download, install, and then repair all the damage it did.

It is working well with iCal, Address Book and Stickies - with my 8100 - FINALLY!

...now if I could get the sync to work via Bluetooth, it would be great. Looking into it now.

Well, I've downloaded PocketMac 4.0 and had a bit of a play with it. So far, I've had a few goes at syncing and most things seem to just work. The interface and general operation are a bit clunky and a bit on the slow side but they seem to generally work.

All the right warnings etc seem to appear at the right point etc. So should be OK. I've done a few syncs with iCal, AddressBook, Stickies etc (not Mail though) and things worked ok. It's a bit annoying that it keeps asking you what to do every time it finds you've deleted a contact etc though. It should have the smarts to work it out and check against the last sync.

Overall, better than nothing, better than a Windows solution but can still be improved. If you would want a score I'd say 5 out of 10 but still very usable, especially considering there is no other option :P

cheers!

I'm getting a problem syncing Tasks in iCal (Address Book + Calendar seem to be working fine). The data seems to be coming over to the device all jumbled (there are like 100 "empty" tasks for one).

Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

I'm anxious to try it, but I think I'll wait a week or two to see what the general feedback is.

yeah, I wish it was written in Cocoa and could make use of SyncML so we could use iSync. :( But it's the only solution, and it does WORK!

As far as I can tell, this is the same as the Beta that everyone was downloading the other day. They both say version 4.0.17 and both are the same file name and same file size. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Same experience like the beta for me. It hangs sometimes but does work in the end. My events are in iCal are all messed up. I have the same birthday in multiple times. Appts seem ok. Addresses are fine. Glad to have it.

Default One two three.... Jump!

Okay,

I got the 8703e on sprint, today, (she's sitting right next to me charging), I just downloaded the PM 4.0 official release.

I've backed up Address book.
I've backed up iCal.
I'm gonna back up my bookmarks in Firefox, (though I've go hundreds and probably should cull through them before I try to bring them over).

I'm gonna reboot, quick all applications, repair permissions and quit any and all open apps.

Then I’m gonna unstuff the file and read all the read me's, (ill probably go blind).

Is there anything else I could do other than what I'll find in the read me? I haven't done anything to the BB 8703e yet, I don't have an Intel Mac so I have not done any updates or aftermarket themes or anything.

All I want to do today is Get all my contacts, iCal, and email set up on the BB.

Thoughts?

Oh, and I just read the PM thread with the 100 responses. And per one of the post, I'm gonna avoid trying to sync tasks and stickies, too.

Default Sync taking forever

So, ive installed 4.0 and syncing right now. it is taking forever to sync and seems hung up on syncing iCal. 4.0 did have me resolve over 500 iCal conflicts, so im thinking that it is syncing every iCal entry ever created.(oops)

anyone else have this issue of the sync taking forever? im thinking of cancelling, but i don't want to lose any data.

Default Ok, just answered my own question...

Got sick of waiting and cancelled sync. Went into PM prefs > Calendar and set the Advanced Pref to NOT sync items over 30 days old. Went quickly when i re-synced.

FYI
