We're running BES 4.1sp2hf3 for Domino.

We recently turned on SMS, Phone Call, and PIN logging on our BES. We've noticed that the Log Retention settings in the BlackBerry Server Configuration tool do not affect these logs. Is there any way to set retention for these?

Our "Log file prefix" is blank. "Create daily log folder" is UNchecked.
All logs settings are as follows:
Debug log daily file: yes
Debug log level: 3
Debug log size (MB): 0
Debug log auto-roll: no
Debug log maximum daily file age: 60
Debug log encoding: UTF-8

We're also seeing that the "BBIM" and "MDAT" files are left behind in each day's folder. There are no settings for these logs in the Server Configuration tool. The settings available in the BlackBerry Manager don't provide options for log retention. Is there a way to set a retention schedule for the BBIM and MDAT logs?

There are no log settings for the SMS, Phone, and PIN logs. You can only change the path for log directory.

We don't use the retention settings at all for our logs. We run a batch file everyday to zip and delete the logs.

Hi,

Does anyone know how to change the encoding settings for the SMS, Phone and PIN logs?

I need to use Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 and it only support ASCII or ANSI, no UTF-8 support. Any ideas? If not, I'm going to have to use a batch program to convert each file before I work with it.
