Default Application close automatically after idling

Please Login to Remove!

If I leave the blackberry (9700, 5.0.0.743) idle for a while, all applications will close. The application switcher will only have home, phone, email, browser. The browser will go back to the start page, not the page I left it on.

What's going on here?

Thanks!

Do you have password lock, content protection, and memory cleaning enabled?

Password is enforced by IT policy. This has not changed for a few years.

I am not aware of the other 2 settings. Where can I locate it?

Thanks!

Encryption is enabled (by IT policy) on device memory and card. This has been the same.

Memory cleaning is something that I can not aware of. IT policy enables it. BB website said it releases wasted memory. Does it actually cause the application to close? If so, should I turn off: Clean when holstered/idle?

Thanks!

I'm not sure. I'm pretty good about closing apps when I'm done, but I don't always close my browser. I know as long as my blackberry doesn't lock, the browser will still be on the page I left it. But when I let it lock, I find the browser has closed when I unlock it. And I have content protection and memory cleaning enabled. That's why I thought about it in response to your question. It's what makes sense to me. But not sure.
