I just downloaded this and it seems quicker that before. Keyboard typing is more accurate. MMS works. All Messengers work. Love the new text editing window. Memory leak is alot better, stable at 23megs with aim and google talk on all day. Battery seems to last alot longer than before. There are a few flaws as expected with any beta builds. Camera works sometimes. EDGE to edge problem still exists, when i try to go to wap and reg internet using browser. Fixed with 90 radio as usual. Noticed that when i get a voicemail and try to enter my password, keyboard will show but unable to switch to numbers no matter how many times i press the 123 button on screen. The little box appears at top right hand corner but keypad does not change. Tried both on speaker and headset modes. Useless for checking voicemail. Will be going back to 109. You have to be able to check voicemail right? Hahaha. Theres my two cents.

Also, a big problem I have is while on a call when I try to bring up the keypad it will only give me the SureType keyboard and won't let me switch it. Therefore, I can't check my voicemail. Albog those lines, my voicemail. P longer goes to my YouMail account, but I think I know what I did to break that.
Have the same problem. You are not alone. Hahahaha.

So much for keeping this thread down to just posts that contribute something..

I installed 114 last night. What I have noticed so far:

- rotation from portrait to landscape is about same, which is okay.

- rotation from landscape to portait seems to take at least twice as long as it did in 103. Sometimes it takes several seconds. This issue is just about enough to make me downgrade to 109.

- I called a SpeedDial number this morning. I got his vmail, so I hung up and clicked my Call Log to highlight the call I just made, intending to hit Menu and call a different number for that same contact. The call was not listed in my Call Log! I called his other number by finding him in my Contacts. After that, the call was in the Call Log, and when I viewed the History for that Call Log entry, it showed both calls.

- the new Copy/Cut feature is, well, I'll just say I still haven't quite figured out how to make it work as well as the old way. Mainly for selecting a block of text and adjusting the ends of the selection. Especially if the whole block that you're selecting within is not that big.

- I have not had any issue with working my vmail.

- When I upgraded, I intended to (re-)install Visual VoiceMail. I've never used VVM, but my brother convinced me to try it. I had uninstalled it from my phone when I first got it. During the OS upgrade, on the screen where it would let me choose additional apps (like IM, etc.) to install, VVM was not listed. I don't know if it was supposed to be or not. Regardless, I don't have the VVM app on my phone and I'm not sure how to get it now.

Apparently, yesterday, I just hadn't had to delete any vmail messages yet. Last night, when I tried to delete a vmail, I had the same bug others have reported. I.e. when I clicked to display the dial keypad, I got a QWERTY keyboard instead, which, of course, would not generate DTMF tones, so I could not do anything with my vmail.

I installed the 114 Hybrid that was posted by BBCrackMan (I think?) on BlackberryOS.com (I think - I found the link to it somewhere on here) last night. It definitely fixed the dial keypad issue. Landscape-to-portrait rotation is faster, but it doesn't seem to be as fast as it was with .103.

vlingo, BerryTunes, Facebook and MySpace seem to work okay with the 114 Hybrid.

That's all I can really report so far.

Default .114 Hybrid

I'm using it right now, and it's working quite well.

But what's all that foreign language stuff in VZ Navigator?

Yeah I noticed that myself. A bunch of ???? ?? ?? where the version number should be. Good thing I use TeleNav and not VZ Nav.

.114 really blew for me, I just finished loading the Hybrid, and will let you know.

Default My 2 cents

I had been running a 109 hybrid for a couple of weeks with no problems. When 114 was leaked and I read all the negatives, I thought I would sit tight. Last night I loaded bbcrackman's hybrid. I must admit, i see little difference, with the exception of the cut/copy/paste feature which IMHO makes it worth the upgrade. It certainly makes corrections and edits a lot easier.

I have stayed with .103. Seems like the best release since .75. All of these reported problems make me want to stay with .103 till VZW gets off their duff and releases and upgrade. But for me and the way I use my Storm, .103 is flawless. Never have to pull the battery, never fails to function correctly.

Didn't like the rotation or phone keyboard glitches so I installed the hybrid, will report back on it later.

EDGE is like 3G (or EVDO for verizon) it is just a slower connection. like on our verizon storms we see 1XEV. that means we have a 1XRTT connection (voice) and EVDO connection (3G for CDMA) i hope that didnt complicate things more...

i don't think the cell reception is as good as previouses releases, my phone works great but doesn't seem to want to play with my verizon network extender. Also the arrows that show data transfer are missing.

so after installing .114 and using it for just under a week

cons : 1 random crash reboot

Pro: FASTER! Everything is faster
- landscape to portrait and back = very snappy
- no more accidental portrait to landscape or vice versa. its very accurate now
- keyboard responsiveness is much better, you almost type full speed

other than that wicked upgrade.

I installed that hybrid last night and so far everything is running smoothly. The new edit feature in .114 is simply amazing!

I've been running the Hybrid since last Thursday night and it is still good. No battery pulls required yet. I even installed and started using Visual Voice Mail, and TetherBerry.

.114 hybrid going since Saturday, no resets, minimal memory leak, this might be my last one until something official comes out. Of course I have said that before
