I get the same "Searching..." message while at work. My office is located in an area with very limited TMO coverage. However an AT&T tower is less than .5 miles. Go figure.

Do a tower search at AntennaSearch - Search for Cell Towers, Cell Reception, Hidden Antennas and more. and find all cell towers in an 8 mile radius.

the tmo map states i should get 3-4 bars. and according to the map search.

107 feet .26 miles is how far the neartest tmo antenna is.

Those coverage maps state that it doesn't take into account being inside buildings, etc.

Well since they are a European based company they might be more focused on expanding there network across the pond rather then over here thus making for suspect service.
