Viigo will be the guest on the http://BlackBerryBoards.com/chat weekly chat session this Thursday (Aug 6) at 8:00 pm EST. I have added a request for the "light" version as a question to be asked of them...

Very true, that is how they are turning out. Hopefully over time they will fine tune all their features.

Wirelessly posted (Its All About the U!)

I deleted the app for now. It was slowly down the device a bit.

Wow, and you got a fast device.

Do you leave it running in the background? I just read my feeds and close the Application, due to memory leak issues and old habit from my 8830 days.. (I still miss that thing lol)

I dropped back to 3.1.330... the new alpha release was just too big and slow. My Bold is happier, apparently...

Exactly... all I want it for is the RSS reader... I use SocialScope, BBWeather/BerryWeather, Poynt and ScoreMobile for the other stuff. I really don't like apps that want to be everything to everyone... and I certainly don't need to commit 1.2 MB of BB memory to a RSS feed reader...

Hmm, good thing I deleted it before even starting with it apparently then.
I do not need anything to jam it up.
This thing is slow enough on it's own.

I tried the new version on my Tour and performance was awful! It would freeze up several times during the update process, each freeze lasting 5-10 seconds. And the BGR feed was shifted to the left a number of spaces so all the words on the left side of the screen were completely off the screen. In addition, the AL Baseball Current Games were stuck at a date almost 2 months ago. That particular feed simply would not update. I reported the problem to Viigo on June 17th. Today, 2 1/2 months later, I got an acknowledgment email that they received my report and have just now opened a support ticket!

It worked flawlessly on my Bold and I was a huge fan. But this version on my Tour is fatally flawed. And if it takes them this long to even catch up with my complaint, I hold out little hope for a resolution in my lifetime!

Yeah. I had to uninstall as well. There should also be a lite version coming out shortly. Its a great prog when it works properly.

Is there really news from Viigo really about a lite version? I thought this was just everyone's wishful thinking.

Daphne - They indicated during the chat on BBB that they were working on a "lite" version. Still have not heard of any updates or progress reports.

I just re-installed Viigo from App World and I'm pleased to report it's working well. I have it set to be moved to the background when I close it, so the updating problem has not reared it's ugly head again. My issue with the BGR feed being shifted partially off screen has been resolved, and my MLB section is updating properly as well.

I would be very interested in a Viigo Lite version. This current version of Viigo is a beast.

According to Ruddock's tweets, the Viigo lite should be out THIS WEEK. (Yeah, I know, it's Friday and no sign yet...).

How about Viigo with Spacebar Scroll? Why are they the one company that can't figure out how to implement that option?

This week... I would really love a lite version, I constantly see the hour glass when going threw my feeds.

It appears that the "light" version is online now - take a look at ViigoNews | Viigo. I've installed it and no weather and slimmer interface but the version number is lower than the beta version....and a new full version at getviigo.com/privatebeta and the version number has dropped to 3.1.447

oh and it's not really private it's being tweeted by @viigo and @Ruddockmh (ceo).....

Yes, the "lite" version is out... v 3.1.448... and it weighs in at 1.0.0.8 MB... so it's still big, but not as big as the "full" version. So far seems nice and quick...
