Default I think I was spoiled by the 8330.

Ok, most of you already know I have Storm2... And I'm really not crazy about it, maybe it's too much of change? I'm really considering returning it and either going with the Tour or waiting for the Tour2, but if I kept the Storm2 I am sure I would adapt to it I mean I work in IT it's part of my job to adapt to new technology, but I think this is one exception to the rule, for the mere fact that I do not have to adapt this is my personal device and I don't want to struggle with it.

Plus I think a major part of my resentment to the Storm is the other slew of changes, the new Charging port which makes charging anywhere a bit more difficult since I have spare USB cables all over the place but not for the newer devices, and I had the charging cradle for my Curve which is just a real nice novelty to have, but I would run into this problem no matter what even if I purchased the tour.

OS 5.0 is also so much different, I miss my Dimension L theme, I had my icons setup the way I needed without the need to flick screens and folders, the Precision themes are just seem so much darker I miss the bright colors lol. However I think my biggest gripe is the fact I actually have to look for the options now where as before I would just constantly hit the keyboard and get to where I needed without barely track ball at all.

Sorry but I just have to rant... (and I posted in the right place to )

Yep VZW gives you 30 days these days. I think I'm probably going hold onto for a bit longer , at least until my rebate comes back so when I return it the process isn't any more confusing that what it should be.

It's nice to play on the other side of the fence and have a device for fun and games, but I know what I'm missing.

Pardon my ignorance: what's different about the charging port?

Mini vs. micro USB. The Storm has a smaller charging port so all those cords you have laying around, that have been the same for years, are now not able to charge the new devices. I have the same issue with my BB Tour.

However, instead of buying all new cords, I just bought some mini to micro adapters and am still using some of the old cords with the adapters. MUCH cheaper.

That is most likely what I am going to be doing, where did you happen to buy the adapters from?

On a positive note, I was reading that the Micro USB is to be the standard for cell phones.

Steve086, besides the learning curve issues [and charge port] you mentioned, have you come across any technical uncertainites with the Storm2?
And, yes if you can't live with it, take it back. Life is to short to have to struggle with any cell phone, pda, bb, etc.

Other then my little gripe with what I mentioned above, I have noticed a few other little qwerks with the device and to it's defense they will most likely get fixed in future OS releases.

1. Occasionally the screen will not press down unless I pick the phone up. (My biggest gripe, If I need to send a message and Blackberry doesn't I have a problem with that lol)
2. When I hit the Alt or Shift key to do numbers or capital letters their is a noticeable lag in the keyboard. (Not too much of a problem just annoying)
3. Notifications are not really accurate with this phone It tells me I have X amount of emails in my inbox but I don't, and I must pull the battery to reset the phone. (My other bigger gripe)

Those are the top bugs I found with it, once again though they most likely will get fixed in OS updates. So I would give it some time.

I've noticed this on my Storm 1 once I upgraded to the released 5.x OS from Verizon. Mine's funny that it's only wrong in landscape, if I switch the phone to portrait, it updates. I don't think we'll see a fix for it very soon though, RIM is has a lot of phones to get 5.x working on, and I'm sure that'll take priority.

You are correct.. It's mainly in Land scape, but that's not good for me since it limits me..

I'd keep an eye out for a leak for the Storm2 of a newer OS. I can't see them leaving that bug in there very long.

They only got so many more days to leak that OS. Before I give up on the phone itself. lol
