So of course on the day my girlfriend gets an iPhone 4, the click ball on my BB Tour (about a year old) has stopped working. Or it'll work randomly after a few tries. Basically it lets me scroll, but it won't click to open Text Messages, for example. Anything I can do? I've done two battery pulls.

Sounds like a hardware failure, specifically the trackball assembly. On the Tour, trackballs were re-designed to be lower profile. These new ones were prone to failure. I swapped out three of them on my Tour in one year.

Cheap replacement parts are available at CNN.CN (ships out of Hong Kong). I know Sprint stores were giving new trackballs away so maybe Verizon is too.
