new to blackberry like the phone but dont know how to put freeware games etc on to the phone,dont have data connection or wifi 8310.have downloaded game to comp but can not get it onto phone,also where is gps?
please help

You have to download and use the app loader in the desktop manager. (computer>usb cable>phone)

Even if the phone has GPS, wont be of much use without a data connection to download maps....

Yes, and you will need to search for applications/games that offer a desktop installation. Not all offer one.

And be aware that many applications/games require a data connection in order to work.
