i bought a new trackball with the ring and the trackball still sticks.. some days, it works fine and other days, it gives me shit to roll to the left or right.. ive taken it out many times to clean it. i try to force the ball to move the way it sticks at and it still doesnt work.

i'll never recommend anyone to get a blackberry w a trackball.

does anyone have any suggestions on fixing this problem?

Please don't use profanity in your posts here. It's offensive.

It sound like you are getting the new trackball dirty. Are your hands always impeccably clean before you touch it. Do you keep it in a covered holster/case at all time especially if you put in a pocket or purse or backpack?

Wirelessly posted (White and Nerdy)

Also, if it really ticks you off, just get one of the newer guys 9700, 8500 that uses the trackpad

Im not surprised. Im feeling similar to you at the moment. Except that my problems happen to be all internal with obvious evidence that the OS has severe bugs. If you shift out a reccuring appointment. It wil start spawning itself all over your calender. At least yours is a hardware problem which you could get rectified or get a new device. The problems ive discovered , even BB staff themselves dont have answers.

Did you buy an official RIM trackball or a cheapie? I've found the cheap ones don't last long at all
Also, have you tried cleaning the contacts that the rollers touch? If you take the ring and ball out, there are 4 black squares, try cleaning these with a cotton bud
