Default Cant get any calls through to the blackberry

I picked up a (says 8703e) in the case but the guy advertised it as a 8330.
It is a sprint phone but is flashed for cricket.
He initially told me to dial *228 opt 2 to locate the phone to the nearest tower.
Then with I spoke with cricket they told me to wait three hours and dial *228 to program the phone.
Meanwhile I called the guy back and he said not to dial *228 because it would reprogram the phone back to sprint.
He said to just input the MDN and MIN into the phone and I'm good to go.
So I did and I have internet and can dial out.
However when I try to call the phone It goes straight to voicemail and will not call the phone.
I looked in profiles and set it to loud profile and set ringertype I want as well as vibrate and ring.
Still won't take any incomeing calls.
It seems to me that if I don't allow the programing from cricket then I'm not going to get any calls but just be able to make calls.

Questions:
Is there a setting I'm missing?
Is that it? I don't get any calls period because I can't let cricket program the phone?

Is it an 8703 or an 8330? Does it have a trackball in the middle or a trackwheel on the side?

*228 doesn't do anything on Sprint. Sprint doesn't use that method to program their phones, Verizon does.

Cricket needs to program the phone from their end.

Has the track wheel on the side.
This is a cricket flashed phone. I'm using the cricket service.
Is it true that if I let cricket update the phone then it will revert back to sprint and won't work with cricket any more?

Is there a setting in the phone that I need to change to accept calls?
I created a new profile and enabled it.
In the profile under the heading phone I selected
vibrate+tone
tune = ringer classic
Do not disturb = no

This is the only place I can find that deals with the subject of accepting calls or not to accept calls.

I called cricket and had them refresh my information on my account, then the phone started receiving calls.
