If the police want to go through the trouble of obtaining a warrant for whatever it is you did, then yes, RIM has a record of your BBM texts.

PIN messages and BBM messages are one in the same (if I recall correctly).

Your carrier (and you can assume your BES admin if you have one) also has copies of text mesages you sent and received as well as phone calls placed and received by your device.

The recipient also has a copy of the BBM text. Don't forget to have them delete the message if it's something you're worried about.

I would assume that the three-letter agencies also have a back door into PGP. I do not know this, but it is reasonable to make that inference.

Well, that's completely irrelevant to this question as there is no way to use PGP or any encryption on BBM messages.

And yes, the NSA has a backdoor into ALL encryption programs. Even if they don't have a backdoor, Fort Mead's data center can probably crack it in real time.
