Hello, I cannot seem to start my blackberry curve 8520. Firstly, my battery died, whereby the phone no longer recognised it as a battery, therefore i bought a new one. Now, when I charge it, on both the usb and the original wall charger (both working) the charging screen comes up (lightning bolt though a battery). But after leaving it overnight on both usb and the charger it still doesn't start? I've tried the battery pull, taken the sim and micro sd card out, but to no avail. it still does not want to boot up.

Did you buy a true OEM battery made for the 8520 or knock off form eBay or elsewhere?

When you connect to DM, is the device recognized?

proper battery, and yes, but it "cannot communicate with the connected device"
