Default Switching users from BIS to BES

Please Login to Remove!

We recently installed BES 4.1 for Exchange. All our verizon BB's are setup using BIS. Is there anything special I need to do to switch them from using their BIS account to the BES account? I was just going to delete their BIS account and then do the enterprise activation....

Do I need to change desktop manager on their computers?

What is the recommended setting for bes wireless reconciliation (and where is this set?)

Thanks!

My only experience here is activating a personal BES service hosted by mail2web.com. I did update the desktop software to use wireless reconcilliation. There are a few settings in there to review. You will need to look under redirector settings, on the advanced tab. You may have to reinstall the desktop software and tell it you are using BES. I believe that is what I did.

Did you install BES yourself or are you using a hosted service? If hosted, they should be able to support you and get one up and running. The rest should be easy.

There also may be a thread on BES set up that I am not familiar with.

One thing to remember is that when you do the BES activation, all of the contacts will be deleted from your device and updated with the data from the BES account.

Good Luck!

This is not true. I just moved from BIS to BES and all of my contacts created with BIS were left intact. In fact, all of my BIS contacts were synched within Outlook, and I had to go into Outlook and clean up/merge contacts.
