Can someone advise how/if I can download/sync the latest update of the BB OS?

Not if you aren't having any issues at the present time.

I've encountered a problem with this release - large SMS messages above 160 characters are received as single messages and advertise missing text; predominantly from the O2 network in the UK, it does not seem to happen when the originating network is Orange or T-Mobile.
Stepping back to a prior release have cleared up the trouble immediately. I did try a battery pull before taking the action to downgrade; I am now back on 4.2.2.173/4.0.76

Upgraded tonight due to some general laggy performance. Everything seems fine so far, but be aware that many program preferences will be lost when updating - I did not know this beforehand. For instance, Google Maps remains on your phone, but favorites are lost. Not a huge deal, but thought I'd provide the info-

That sucks I saw the Pearl and it has all the software that was in the Youtube video. Does anybody have any contacts? Should we try to get in touch with RIM?

I honestly think this is the last update you'll see with carriers until 4.5 is released. Not many carriers are releasing updates like they used to.

You mention 4.5 is there an announcement date for that one? For us 4.2 users we "miss out" on the new features which is unfair compared to the rest....

Confirmed Bug
Just uploaded my Blackberry 8300 to this OS. Confirmed bug reported by Steveo247 with the open task menu opening very briefly when hitting back button.
However, unable to confirm bug reported by danio1972 with large SMS causing a "missing text" error. On the Rogers Wireless (Canada) network, however.
Other than that, havn't noticed any other issues.
Cheers,
--Phil

I found a weird glitch when deleting songs in media. Well at least in ringtones. I was deleting the ringtone and the song will still be listed but of course won't play cause its deleted. I even went back into main menu then go back into ringtones and it was still listed. I ended up pulling battery and that seemed to take them off the list.

Been a LONG time since ive updated my curve (since it came out basically).
I'm running a ATT unlocked 8300 on T-MO, and I remember having to pick certain firmwares in the beginning due to the lack of browser service book, is this still an issue, or can I now upgrade without fear?
