Default Help with upgrading to OS 4.5

Please Login to Remove!

So i downloaded & installed the 4.5
i see the difference in Desktop Manager.
Is it gonna tell me the OS on my BB?
cause i checked in advanced options and it still says 4.2?
is that right or did i do something wrong?

You installed Desktop Manager 4.5 ... not the handheld software 4.5.

You need to follow the instructions here:

Did you connect via USB to the computer and get the 30-45 minute upgrade process? If it did not prompt you to upgrade when you connected to DM then perhaps you failed to remove the vendor.xml file. If you followed the directions in the sticky to the letter then try going to App Loader in DM and start the upgrade manually. Usually it's forgetting to delete the vendor file that causes this.

Remember after you install the new OS to your PC, you will need to delete the vendor.xml file again.

You will need to remove the vendor.xml file again AFTER you install the OS that you're currently downloading onto your PC.

You can't delete the Vendor file until you install the OS.

No need to restore it. It will be put back when you install the OS on your PC.
Yes, all handheld software contains English.

Install handheld software on your PC.
Delete vendor.xml
Launch Desktop Manager.
Connect BB.

Do not plug in your BB untill after you have installed the OS to the computer and deleted the vendor.xml. Here are the instructions from the sticky.
*************
Instructions for installing on ANY carrier's 8320:

1. Make sure you have Desktop Manager 4.2 SP2 or higher installed. If you need it here's a link for Desktop Manager:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...93E4F3BB068C22
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded.
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
4. Plug in BB and Open Desktop Manager. You should be prompted to upgrade.
The process takes about 45 minutes to an hour depending on how much data you have to backup and restore during the process. Once it's done loading the new OS it will reboot (it may do this twice during the entire process.) You will see a white screen with an hourglass for up to 45 minutes at a time while the DM says "waiting for initialization."
If you end up with a white screen with small icons and the number 507, simply connect to DM again and run application loader again and it should load the OS to the device

Once you connect your BB and start the handheld software upgrade process... expect it to take about 30-40 minutes to complete.
