Default Sending pictures doesn't use default email addr

Please Login to Remove!

I have an 8330. I have my gmail account set up as the default email account and it works correctly when sending emails. However, every time I send a picture, it picks my blackberry email address instead. It ignores my default email account settings. I've just gone through all the settings again to verify and I do have my gmail set as the default. Is this just the way it works, or is there some setting I'm missing? Every time I send a picture I have to change the email address....

Thanks - Jevid

it should pick your primary... not sure why itdoesnt.. make sure you have the newest device software in http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ilanguage.html

then try and see if the problem is fixed after the upgrade...

post back here with your results

BTW, i notice that your profile says the 8130 PEARL while you posted a problem with the 8330 CURVE

just want to make sure im giving you the correct link

I'm running 4.5.0.97, just installed it last week. It still does the same thing and it's really baffling me. It uses my default address for regular email, but not when sending a photo from within the camera app.

Any other thoughts on what to try?

Thanks

I've got the same exact issue. I use gmail and default to it, but it keeps defaulting to the bb address for photos only. Even if I change the default email address to gmail and continue to take photos, it defaults back to the bb email address each time for each photo.

Any updates?

(it's not that bad, but it is annoying)

I've seen a couple other posts from other BB users - and they all say the same thing. Seems to be a problem with the OS. Maybe it will get fixed in the future. I agree - not the end of the world, just something to remember to do when sending a picture.

I found another post through my google search too.

blackberryforums.com/general-8300-series-discussion-curve/158412-changing-default-email-addy.html

Good to know that I'm not the only one with the issue. I hope that it is on their radar of fixes. Unlike the guy in the link above, this is the only issue that I haven't been able to resolve with my BB and BBForums. I love my BB

Thanks for the update jevid! I'll try to comeback here and reply if I ever see an update.

I think it's just putting the email addy's in alphabetical order and using the first one on the list. I have 2 email addy's and the one I didn't want to use started with an A. So I went into BIS, renamed that email (not the email addy itself, just the name of the email account) with a Z in front of it, and resent service books. Now when I take a picture, it defaults to the one I normally use. Works as a work around for me, not sure if it will for everyone though.

That tip about using the account names in alphabetical order is totally correct. Re-named my accounts and everything is working the way I want it to.

Worked like a charm. Thanks ATLSport for the solution to this annoying problem.
