I opened mine after following the Youtube video, but soon realised that I didn't need to open it - you can replace the outer screen without the phone being dismantled although it feels as though it doesn't want to give.
Mine didn't have a very good 'seal', (thin glue blobs by the look of it), so it's a 'sloppy' fit, needs some thin double-sided foam or flexible sealant to properly secure it.

One small problem with replacing the rubber coated side bezels is that on your OEM bezels, the side buttons are literally melted on to keep them fastened.
They can be removed and reinstalled in a new set, but have something like a soldering iron ready to melt the tiny plastic posts to fasten your old buttons to the new side bezels.
I was hoping the new side bezels would come with new buttons.

I'm still amazed at the price difference between these two vendors:
CNN vs Promobility
OEM speaker $3.99 vs $20
Lens: $4.99 vs $35
Front housing: $11.99 vs $50
Full Housing (no battery door): $29.99 vs $89
...and no I don't work for either company.

Googling the part number for the 8300 battery door yields quite a few results.

Crimson face....
I got mine from here guys.
reasonably priced.
BlackBerry 8310 Curve OEM red faceplate w/ lens- SonyEricsson, LG, Acer, Mobiado, Panasonic, Motorola, Apple, Microsoft, Samsung,
it says 8310 but fits my 8300. I think anything 8310 will fit 8300 and vice versa.
while your at it get an extra lens too.
8300 - Sony, Acer, BlackBerry, Accessories Store, Alcatel, Mobiado, Apple, BenQ-Siemens
you'll need a T4 torx. (I got a pricision torx kit for $5 at Home Depot).
the Youtube video was helpful.

Anyone know where to get the black keyboard from the Crimson 8310? I just picked up a titanium 8310 and think the black keys would look great. Doesn't look like CNN.CN has them yet.

I haven't found *any* keypads on the market yet for an 83xx. If anybody knows of any sources, please share!

I've ordered various 8700 OEM parts from them before. They shipped quickly and the parts were perfect! Much less expensive than Promobility.

I've got a faceplate coming from them now. Hong Kong to Washington.

They've had many of the parts available for a while now, and finally started stocking replacement keypads for the Curve - prices are the best that I've seen for Blackberry parts also - some of the other places charge nearly double what these guys charge. The keypad, btw, is selling for something like $5.

The only catch would be it takes 7-10 days to get to the states from Hong Kong, where-as it would take 3-5 days in the states. Well worth the wait to me.

No instructions came with my 8700 parts.
I haven't seen an 8300 disassembly instructions yet, but the pics of the sides seem to indicate they're only fastened by two screws and some tabs.

Their is a video on youtube how to take the curve apart sorry I'm on wap and can't link it atm
Hope this helps
