Default Help-Last Attempt to Keep Curve-Calendar Issue

Please Login to Remove!

I have been having all sorts of issues synching with Outlook. It is not the duplicate issue, but rather DM wants to delete entries in Outlook.

After speaking with AT&T, then RIM, the conclusion is that the deletion issue may be connected to the known problem, but they are not sure.

RIM's conclusion is that all 8300's synching through BIS (not BES) have this problem where DM attempts to delete appointment in Outlook. I have not come across that in my research, so I was wondering if anyone else, running BIS, is able to synch with Ouloook calendar?

Thank you

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8300/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

I had that problem at first. I read on hear that resending the service books might do the trick. It worked for me. I still don't have reminders though, and haven't tried the delete CICAL workaround for fear of messing up my Outlook synch! But resending the service books did the trick and I can synch both ways on Outlook.

Thank you. I will try that again. I did not resend the books after reinstalling DM

Exclamation Calendar Patched? RIM fixed OTA?

My calendar issue is resolved. I did nothing.

Soon after discovering the problem, I set it not to sync the calendar. Some weeks later (Sunday) after a recharge I pulled the battery for a few seconds (something I like to do from time to time). Out of curiosity I looked at my calendar options and found a value other than 0. Today when I experiment with syncing with my Outlook (2003), I find there is no longer an issue with syncing or with calendar alerts. It all seems to work perfectly.

Anyone else?

John,
Thank you for the response. I tried that after receiving your post - did not correct the problem. Rats. I will attempt to re-send the service books one more time. If that d/n fix the problem, I will bring back the 8300 tonight.

Out of curosity, where was your 8300 manufactured? Mexico or Canada?

deleted CICAL, problem fixed.

There is actually a work around posted on Blackberry.com that seems to be real official for the Calender issue and it says to delete the CICAL's.

I just read the workaround. I'm on BES and BIS and it says to delete all the <Blackberry Internet integration service> [CICAL].

I show two entries with CICAL. One is myemailname [CICAL]. The other is Desktop [CICAL]. Which one, or both, need to be removed?

Thanks.

Can you clarify the 'calendar options = 0' comment. Not sure what that means or where to look. What should it be once I find it?

I had same issue that DM wants to delete calendar entries in outlook, and I found that the hand unit calendar options defaulted to 60days, and that's why it was trying to delete appointments that were over 60days in outlook, after the initial complete sync.

I reset option to keep all entries and solved it.
