Hi,

I am a newbie at Blackberry Development. I am facing issues while trying to setup the development environment. I downloaded the BlackBerry Java Plugin for Eclipse v1.3 MR (Windows) from the "BlackBerry - Development Tools & Downloads" website.

Then, according to the instructions in -

"BlackBerry - Java Plug-in for Eclipse Update" Site

I tried to install Blackberry Java SDK 5.0 via the "Install new Software" option in Eclipse-> Help. After some time, I was prompted for my credentials, which I entered (the same as developer zone). But, the installation is unsuccessful with the following error -

An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
session context was:(profile=SDKProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phase s.Collect, operand=, action=).

I do not have a clue as to what I am doing wrong. Stuck with this problem for 3 days now. Plz help!!!

Hi...To clarify further, I need to develop for all versions of Blackberry JDE. Thats why I need to install all versions of the JDE.

Hi,

Got the solution. Thought I would share it for the benefit of other newbies.
Other JDEs are already available with the latest Full Plugin Download. All that needs to be done is you need to Configure the JREs.
Go to New Project->Configure JREs->Add-> Blackberry Execution Environment VM->Definition File (Click on File)->Point to the Specific JRE's Definition File (.ee). This file can be found in the Components Folder.
Eg. For BB 5.0, the Blackberry.ee file would be located in - \Eclipse\plugins\net.rim.ejde.componentpack5.0.0_5 .0.0.25\components

After you add this definition file, you are ready to work for BB 5.0
