Hi Roy,

The 8700s are in!

The pricing is as follows.

BlackBerry 8700s at $350 a piece for a one-year agreement (after $50 rebate)

7290s are $100 a piece on a 1-year deal

From our T-Mobile rep:

2 Year agreement
Retail price (BB 8700) = $349.99 - $40.00 MCSA discount = Upfront cost: $309.99 plus a $50.00 mail in rebate = Final cost $259.99

1 Year agreement
Retail Price (BB 8700) = 399.99 - $40.00 MCSA discount = Upfront cost: $359.99 plus a $50.00 mail in rebate = Final cost $309.99

What's the MCSA discount and how does one achieve it?

Here's as article with some more pictures of the T-Mobile US 8700g. It's from the CTIA show. It seems that the darker black look is the color they went with.

I agree. But it is still darker looking than the UK T-mobile units.

Agreed. It looks black at first glance but if you compare it to some of the trim which does appear to be black, you can see that it looks like a super dark blue.

At this point, I have no preference over either. I just want to have an Edge, faster-processor BlackBerry on T-Mobile.

I have to meet a client for lunch and there is a T-Mobile store in the area. I may just have to drop by. Not expecting anything to come of that, but have to try.

Just 1 more week! I will be upgrading from a Nokia 6016i (junk Sprint phone) to a BlackBerry!

Perhaps I should order a screen protector and case...

What is the demand like for these things? Will it be difficult to obtain? I am thinking about going during my lunch break to get one of these.

Hmm, that's what I'm hearing from resellers, but that's retail side; had no idea they're also enforcing two year renewals for corporate as well. To save a lousy $50, I'm not going to sign 2 years. Eff that!

I talking to my rep right now, and about to sign a 1 year contract. It will be $399 minus a $50 rebate. I'm a new T-mobile customer.
