I just called via 611 and an Indian gentleman answered. He said he was only authorized to do $349-50 rebate. I told him I was on month to month and mentioned a few online prices that I grabbed while I was on hold. He made notes and asked if I wanted to be transferred. The $199- amount was the first price out of the account guy's mouth. I was quoted $314 for 1 year contract.

I am on month to month and have been with Tmobile since 2004.
VERY nice... maybe it's because you are month to month and have that leverage that helped. I'll definitely keep this in mind.

I have my [email address] address set up already. Now i just want the emails sent from the blackberry to be [email address]. I will be forwarding my email from exchange to the BB.

Incase anyone else is wondering there is a reply to option on my.t-mobile.com under the @tmo.blackberry.net account

I got mine today for $349 for a 2-year contract, which is fine with me since most of my clients and colleagues are on T-Mobile. But I had to buy it on my wife's account since she was due for an upgrade, and I wasnt. Had we gone with mine, it would have been $475. ouch.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Our corporate rep is on maternity leave so I called Business Support. I haggled, and haggled and haggled to get the $179 with express shipping.

I couldn't tell ya. I clicked that I upgraded at a T-mobile store, selected the 8700, put in the purchase date, and then it said "You have 1 rebate waiting" then there was a link at the bottom. Here is the link I got:

Thanks alot, but I did find the correct rebate form for non-upgrade/new purchase.

http://www.tmobilerebates.com/PDFs/5025-244-1703-1.pdf

Also just got off the phone with the corporate sales and was told even I purchase it on the 13th and the rebate is only valid from the 4/17 to 6/30, go ahead and put it in and it will go thru.

The reason why I did not get the rebate form in the first place is because I enter 13th on the date instead of the 17th.

I know of only one T-Mobile 8700g color and that is dark blue. I doubt they would make a distinction in color housing between business and customer.

Default trying to get upgrade

I called thought their 800 number and could only get the rep to give me 299. even though I am out of contract have not had an upgrade in years. I guess when I said I could go to cingular and he said go ahead they don't have as good a plan I knew I couldnt get it lower. Is it easier to get the upgrade at 179 through the 611 number or it does not matter?
Thanks

did you actually threaten taking your business elsewhere before they offered the 179? I called to check the status of my contract (omg, im on month to month) and then said i wanted the 8700. they gave me the same 349/299 bs and i asked for an account specialist. the guy told me he WAS an account specialist and that all he could do was the 349/299...argh.

It seeems that they are not budging from this. That was the best that they could do here too. Dspite the account hsitory that they have which is heavy on international roaming. From the Start Cingular gave it to me at $299 less the mail in rebate of $50 for a final cost of $250 which is what Cingular is selling it at now with a new 2 yr contract.
