I have a 7100t...

"suretype is not a problem from what I are. its eassy to pron and compose new email."

that is how suretype interpreted my typing, which was actually:

"suretype is not a problem from what I see. its easy to open and compose new email."

suretype gets dumber with time near I can tell. I can't wait to go back to a full keyboard, but in a phone-type device instead of that pancake 7230. all characters are created equal. each deserves its own key!

due to the death of my 7100, i had to turn to some coworkers to let me borrow a cell. now, the one thing i hate about that is my girlfriend has unlimited text messaging and absolutely LOVES the technology. this didn't bother me on my 7100, but let me tell you - she got mad at me when i was on this POS Samsung i have with T9... every reply i made was no more than 3 words. and then once, i dared to write a 3xSMS message back to her on the damned thing ... took me 5 mins to type it!

...and don't even get me started on trying to do special characters or even numbers on that damn thing!

i will be VERY happy when i get a borrowed 7105 on Monday and then my 8700g when it ships next week (ordering Monday).

the only mistake i see that suretype made was the are/see wording. the others would have been the typer's fault. with pron/open, looks like your fingers got a wee bit too fast for your typing ... as for eassy, it appears you may have had a case of stutter-finger. suretype is not supposed to correct misspellings made by the user from typing the letters in the wrong order or typing too many letters...

T9 is the tool of the devil and SureType is the precursor of the Apocalypse. Jibi, hard enough trying to type in english with T9 but try Chinese!! Of course, it all takes practice, when I'm in Taipei or Shanghai, I see people typing away on their cell phones like it's nothing.

Do you guys have any experience with trying to convince the shops to sell you one prior to the 'official' date? i.e. what's the likelihood of scoring one on the 10th?

I would say your chances with a T-Mobile corporate store is about 0%. You *might* have some luck with a reseller, though I would doubt that as well.

Yeah that's what I assumed. I wonder if the resellers will get them on the 10th as well?

I spoke to a couple resellers, most of them don't even see the pricing in their system yet (so obviously they won't be taking stock on Monday).

Also, here's the word from some resellers, apparently renewals are mandantory 2 year contracts now.
